Illinois' Reform Commission Names Members
Illinois' new Reform Commission has Pat Fitzgerald on it -- not the crusading federal prosecutor, but the football coach at Northwestern University.

Reform Commission Chairman Patrick Collins Friday announced 14 members of the commission, which will start meeting next week, with the goal of recommending ways to clean up Illinois government.

The appointees:

* Anita Alvarez, Chicago -- Cook County state's attorney
* Pamela Davis, Naperville -- President, Edward Hospital
* Patrick Fitzgerald, Evanston -- Northwestern University football coach
* Hanke Gratteau, Oak Park -- Former managing editor, Chicago Tribune
* Tasha Green, Chicago -- executive director, High Jump, providing enriched academic opportunities for low-income middle school students
* David Hoofman, Chicago -- Inspector general, City of Chicago
* Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, Chicago -- President, DePaul University
* Cmdr. Douglas L. Johnson, Wheaton -- Neurosurgeon, U.S. Marine Corps.
* Kate Maehr, Oak Park -- Executive director, Greater Chicago Food Depository
* Brad McMillan, Peoria -- Executive director, Institute for Principled Leadership, Bradley University
* Duane Noland, Decatur -- President, Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives; former state legislator
* Lawrence Oliver, Chicago -- Chief counsel of investigations, Boeing Co.
* Sheila Simon, Carbondale -- Law professor, Southern Illinois Univ. School of Law
* Rev. Scott Willis, Ashton, Tenn. -- Father of six children killed in a car fire caused by faulty equipment falling from a truck operated by an unqualified driver who had obtained a license by paying a bribe.

Only Alvarez is currently an elected official. The commission has three months to deliver its recommendations.
