Incident Leads To Murder Charges
Sergeants with the Knox County Sheriff's Department confirmed that 25 year old Kai Lefler was booked at the Knox County Jail earlier today.

Lefler is facing charges of Aggravated Battery with a weapon and First Degree Murder.

Galesburg Police won't release details in any official capacity until later tomorrow morning.

Police could not confirm the nature of the incident which led to Lefler's arrest, saying only that there was a victim in the incident.

Galesburg Cottage Hospital confirmed Lefler's alleged victim had been transferred to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. St. Francis Medical Center could not confirm whether or not Lefler's alleged murder victim had been life flighted to their facility or the victim's condition.

Sources confirmed the victim had allegedly been attacked with a knife and that he was in critical condition at the time of his being transferred to Peoria. The investigation is continuing.

Check back later for further details.
