Not Guilty Plea In Restaurant Robbery
The Galesburg man who told police he robbed a sandwich shop earlier this month is pleading not guilty in the case.

29-year old Nathaniel McPherrin was arraigned Wednesday morning on felony charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Robbery, and Theft. Through Public Defender Jim Harrell, McPherrin also asked for a trial by jury.

McPherrin was arrested January third after being found at a home on Elm Street, thanks in part to a CrimeStoppers tip and what police say was information from McPherrin's girlfriend.

Knox County State's Attorney John Pepmeyer says McPherrin entered the Jimmy John's store on East Main Street, displayed a gun, and demanded cash before forcing an employee into a refrigerator.

Knox County Circuit Court Judge Scott Shipplett set a pre-trial hearing in the case for April first, with a possible trial as soon as April 15th. He remains held in the Knox County Jail on $500,000 bond.
