1 Killed in Henderson County Crash
A two vehicle crash on US 34 in Henderson County ended fatally in the early hours of Monday morning.

The crash, which State Police in Macomb say occurred around 5:45am Monday, resulted in two individuals being taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and one fatality.

A semi-truck, being driven by 35 year old Satwinder Pal Gakhar of Canada, crossed the center line and struck a delivery van carrying a driver and passenger.

Emergency personnel removed the passenger, identified as 55 year old William Krapfl, from the delivery van and transported him to Great River Medical Center in Burlington, Iowa.

Gakhar, meanwhile, was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

The individual killed was identified Tuesday morning as 53-year old Douglas Schniker of Burlington, Iowa.

Gakhar was cited for improper lane usage failure to wear a seatbelt.

No alcohol is suspected in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
