Galesburg Man Faces Sex Charges in Quad Cities
A Galesburg man is facing criminal charges in the Quad Cities after an incident at a library there.

Quad Cities television station WHBF reports 40-year-old Anthony Main was arrested last Thursday on a charge of Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse.

Bettendorf, Iowa Police Chief Phil Redington told WHBF the incident happened around noon last Thursday at the Bettendorf Public Library.

Redington says Main allegedly sat down next to a teenage boy at a computer terminal and started touching the boy and himself.

The boy got up and walked away, but Redington says Main allegedly followed him.

The teen eventually went to a coffee shop in the library and asked an employee to call 911.

WHBF reports Main was arrested after allegedly trying to flee the scene.

Main is being held in the Scott County Jail on 200-thousand dollars bond and will be back in court in Davenport Friday, and also faces a charge of being a fugitive from justice.

Main was supposed to appear in court in Knox County last March on a Misdemeanor charge of Public Indecency stemming from last year, but apparently never showed.
