Macomb-Based Staffing Agency to Replace Galesburg Service
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 6/22/12 A staffing agency in Galesburg is shutting it's operation down, but another service from outside of town will soon be moving into the vacated address.

Unique Personnel Consultants, of Macomb, will be taking the place of Geanie Temporary Service on Monmouth Boulevard. Genie Branch Manager Cheryl Clark says they're closing because of the owner's health.

Unique Area Manager Melinda McFadden tells WGIL Unique will provide exceptional customer service to those employees being referred from Geanie to her agency.

"We are definitely very personal, personable group," McFadden said. "We have access to our database -- we have a shared database. If somebody is looking for someone at a different field, and maybe they want someone that can relocated to the Galesburg area, we have 10 other offices that we can pool from to get qualified talent for these businesses."

McFadden says Unique associates have mutual relationships with many of the manufacturers Geanie has worked with.

She says those same companies are rolling their employees over to Unique, and more referrals are still being phoned in.

McFadden hopes the Unique Galesburg office can be moved into the former Geanie location by July first. However Clark says it will be months before they're able to fully move out.
