Quinn to Travel to Denmark for Olympics Announcement
Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn will be headed to Copenhagen for the International Olympic Committee's announcement of the host city for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Quinn said he will join the Chicago 2016 delegation led by First Lady Michelle Obama. Those in the delegation have been fitted for matching suits which, according to Chicago 2016 officials, is an IOC tradition.

Speaking in Chicago, the governor said the Olympics will be good for tourism across the state, and adds that if Chicago lands the games, the state will see additional tourism leading up to and following the games, which could mean job growth.

"It's all about jobs and that's really why we are so committed to getting the Olympics right here in Chicago," Quinn said.

The IOC announcement of the host city is scheduled for Oct. 2 at 11:57 a.m. Central Time.
