End of October for Overpass to be Complete
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 9/17/12 The West Main Overpass construction is taking about four weeks longer to finish than first anticipated.

City Engineer Wayne Carl says being behind only four weeks isn't that bad for the amount of work that needed to be done. He says the hold-ups came from approval with the contractor on the project.

He tells the WGIL Morning News contractors have been working non-stop to get the project complete and with the end so close they should be able to get things finished quickly.

"Contractors worked most Saturdays from the beginning of the project and there's just been a lot of work to get done on the project, I think there was more than the contractor realized that had to be done as far as concrete to be poured. But now that he's getting near the end of the road there for how much concrete has to be poured things will speed up now."

Carl says they have not officially nailed down a completion date but they are looking at the next to last week of October.
