Local Man's Resolution Shot Down By County Board
Local activist Jerry Ryberg has asked the Knox County Board to take up a resolution that would denounce a 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court decision allowing unlimited political donations.

Ryberg tells WGIL getting the County Board to denounce the Supreme Court decision would be sending the right message to Washington.

"It takes us a step closer to telling Congress we want things changed. As of now about 300 cities, towns county boards state legislators have passed these resolutions."

The County board, however did not feel the same way about the resolution and has said it will not hear it at the board meeting tomorrow night. Ryberg says County Board President Greg Bacon has said he feels it would be better for people to call their legislators to address this issue.

Ryberg agrees people should call their legislators but still feels it would make a bigger impact on the issue if the County Board as a whole voted to denounce the 2010 Supreme Court Ruling.
