Galesburg School Board Moves Forward with School Project
The Galesburg School Board thinks they're in good shape to move forward with the Steele Elementary School Renovation.

Administrator Guy Cahill tells WGIL the board has made some final decisions on project bids but are still looking for others.

"Administrations recommendation approved 14 of those bid packages they're rebidding ...they're rejecting one, holding in abeyance a second and rebidding two of those remaining four."

Cahill says the current project has come in under budget thanks to grant money specific to Steele for a geothermal well system and the re-roofing of the building.

He says the overall project retains about two-hundred-thousand dollars in contingency money and its possible that money can be used for alternate items or emergencies.

The School board also approved the final budget for the current fiscal year.
