Galesburg High School Hold Assembly to Encourage Safe Driving
Students filed into the Galesburg High School auditorium at 9:15 Tuesday morning for an assembly on safe driving and hate crimes.

Two teens were killed in a single car crash near Galesburg 14 months ago.

Principal of GHS Roy Van Meter says the assembly is important for the students.

"We were trying to provide students with options for making good choices to keep themselves outta situations that other students have been in over time that led to out comes they didn't want to have."

The mothers of the two boys killed were present for the assembly - displaying a shoe from the wreckage of the accident.

GHS hoped the students take the message and respond with meaningful life changes.
