Drivers Get Ready For More Delays
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced more lane closures for the Galesburg Area.

U-S 34 from the West Main Street interchange in Galesburg to the 140th street interchange will see closures starting this Friday October 12th.

IDOT Spokes person Brian Williamsen tells WGIL what they are doing.

"Crews are going to be doing some concrete patching work in that area there on US 34 basically on the West edge of Galesburg and moving a little bit further west and so intermittently closures are going to be something that drivers are going to experience there."

Willamsen says the work will begin Friday morning and as long as the weather cooperates should be down by the end of the month.

He says the work will take place during the day so drivers need to be aware of what's going on.

Williamsen reminds drivers to put the cell phones down in the work zones.

He says it is illegal in the state of Illinois to be on your cell phone in a work zone.
