Carl Sandburg College Students Get New Opportunity
Carl Sandburg College is allowing its students to also attend another college at the same time.

College president Lori Sundberg Monday signed what's called a Dual Admission Agreement with Saint Ambrose University in Davenport that will allow students to attend both institutions simultaneously, giving C-S-C students access to all of St. Ambrose's programs.

Sundberg -- a graduate of St. Ambrose's doctorate program -- says the program provides a number of benefits.

"The Sandburg degree will satisfy gen-ed requirements at SAU. It provides academic advising, so one on one academic counseling and contact with a SAU adviser. Duel admission scholarship. SAU has a duel admissions scholarship for community colleges, so it' one thousand dollars to a student in addition to the rest of aid that SAU provides."

Sundberg says the program helps the enrollments of both schools, while Saint Ambrose officials say it helps expand a program that's been in place for awhile.

Saint Ambrose has similar agreements in place with Southeastern Community College in Iowa, and Black Hawk College in the Quad Cities and Kewanee.
