Knoxville's Park Getting A Make Over
The City of Knoxville received a grant from the Galesburg Community Foundation that will be used to help enhance James Knox Park.

The the grant will renovate the park as well as the one room school house in the park.

Mayor Bob Johnson tells WGIL the city is looking for ways to attract residents to the park and with this grant they can make some major changes.

"What we're hoping to do eventually there is expand the sidewalk and have a bicycle path," says Johnson. "I think that will help us out considerably working towards our goal."

Johnson says they're hoping to expand the sidewalk all the way around the park so parents can walk around and watch their kids at the same time.

He says they'd like to add some benches and make the park as family friendly as possible. Also at last nights City Council meeting, council members got a look at the 20-13 tax levy.

Mayor Johnson says the city is in good shape and the levy should stay the same as the current levy.
