Black Friday Not What it Used to Be
Whenever Thanksgiving rolls around almost everyone across the nation starts thinking about just how early they need to get up and get to stores on Black Friday.

But now, most retail stores have started opening their doors hours after most people have finished eating turkey and pumpkin pie, making the excitement and rush of Black Friday not the same.

For shopper Rebecca Jones her shopping started Thursdayu night but was looking forward to Black Friday door busters to finish out her holiday shopping.

Jones tells WGIL Black Friday sales are great but with the creation of Black Thursday there's no more challenge in getting the best deal or even finding the perfect gift.

"With everybody being open so long, there's no rush to get here in the morning," Jones said Friday morning. "Wal-Mart [was] empty. Nobody has to choose where to go, whereas when everybody opens at the same time, and all the stores are [benefitting] from it. But with it starting [Thursday] night, everybody went [shopping Thursday] night."

Jones was waiting for the JC Penney's to open so she could get the last few items on her list.

She says her Black Friday shopping is a family tradition and after an early morning of shopping Jones and her family will end their day with an afternoon of cocktails.
