Abingdon High School to Sell Ads on Website
Technology teacher at Abingdon High School Cindy Arthur was looking online when she noticed the ads on the websites she was visiting.

As she watched the ads flicker by she got an idea.

Arthur asked the Abingdon School Board if she could look into the possibility of selling ad space on the High Schools website.

Arthur tells WGIL a project like this would be run by students, and give them an opportunity to see how ad sales and ad creation works.

"We're always trying to promote our students learning more about all these areas, so why not let them have an opportunity to do something good for our school, plus learn some things at the same time," Arthur said.

Arthur say she would be overseeing the project, but it would be up to the students to call local business and see if they'd like to advertise on the website as well as create the online ads.

Arthur says now that she has the board's approval to move forward she will have to sit down and decide what type of ads would work and create a price list with students.

All the money raised from ad sales will go back into the Technology program at the High School.
