Athletic Facility Facade Decided
After much discussion, District 205 has decided on a South Facade for the multi-purpose athletic facility.

The Master Facilities implementation committee met in the little theatre at Galesburg High yesterday to ask questions and make comments to architects from Demonica-Kemper.

The majority of the meeting was spent discussing the facades on the gym and concourse at the multi-purpose athletic facility when a decision on the "base bid" for the South Facade was made.

Superintendent for Finance Guy Cahill tells WGIL he feels it was an important decision to focus the attention of the architects.

I think it was important to dramatize the amount of space we were looking at and I think that helped quantify the amount of people that can occupy that area that we can have that on two sides," says Cahill.

The base bid puts up a screen over the gym and puts the cardio facility in the center.

A total of about 300 people could congregate on either side of the concourse during football games.

Cahill said that with the base bid, it saves the district money and creates symmetry.
