Woman Allegedly Steals Meat for Jailed Boyfriend
An Aledo woman has been arrested in Galesburg for apparently wanting to make a special delivery to her boyfriend whom she said was incarcerated.

Galesburg Police reports indicate officers were called to the Hy Vee on East Main Street around 7:20 Wednesday night, after they say an employee discovered a woman later identified as 23-year old Brandi Peterson pushing a shopping cart down nearby Michigan Avenue.

Police say the employee apparently coaxed Peterson to return to the store with the cart -- which, they say, was full of meat and meat products.

Store officials say the meat valued almost $600.

Peterson, whom officers described as intoxicated, said the reason she had the meat: she wanted to see her boyfriend in the Knox County Jail.

Peterson ended up going there -- but because she was arrested and charged with a single count of Retail Theft Over $150.

No word on whether she's made an appearance in court.
