Reported Altona Break-Ins Increase
The reported break-ins in the Altona area over the weekend have been increased from 28 to 30.

The incidents were reported between the hours of midnight and 8 a-m on Sunday where no forced entry was initially present.

Illinois Crime Scene investigators were called to the scene and now there are two reported cases of forced entry. One to a garage and the other to a vehicle.

Knox County Sheriff David Clague said they are pursuing several different leads at this time - saying only that they may be linked to eyewitness accounts.

Money and electronics were reported stolen from the houses, cars, and garages broken into.

Clague is reminding Knox County residents to keep their doors locked at all times.

The Sheriff's Department is requesting that anyone with information regarding the incidents contact the Sheriff's Department or Galesburg Area Crime Stoppers at 344-0044.
