Winter Storm On The Way
Knox County may be seeing some snow tomorrow morning and afternoon.

Meteorologists are predicting snow accumulating in the one to two inch range.

The storm is set to end the record Illinois set on Monday for record days without snowfall.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Heather Stanley says that the wind may be the biggest problem for drivers tomorrow.

She tells WGIL that for the most part, most of the snow will be Northwest of Galesburg.

"We're going to see some pretty impressive winds," says Stanley. "Especially as the system continues to go past, winds will become more westerly and increase to 35-40 miles per hour so we're going to have a problem more with blowing snow and the reduced visibility from that."

Stanley says there will be plenty of cold air along with the snow, so she predicts it should stick around to accumulate.

The National Weather Service is advising drivers to use extra caution when driving tomorrow and take extra time to get to your destination.

Stanley says a recent study suggests that winters starting slow tend to stay slow with respect to major storms.
