Delay In Start Of Shooting Death Trial
Trials for two people arrested in connection with a fatal shooting from the late-summer months won't happen until next year at the earliest.

30-year old Jeremey Carter of Monmouth, and 33-year old Barry Fletcher of Galesburg, both had pre-trial hearings in Knox County Circuit Court today. Carter faces first-degree murder and other charges, while Fletcher faces charges of Possession by a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Firearm Ammunition by a Felon, and Obstruction of Justice.

Carter waived his right to a speedy trial during his hearing, and won't be back in court for another pre-trial hearing until January seventh. Fletcher, meanwhile, won't be back in court for another pre-trial hearing until February fourth.

The two were arrested hours after a shots fired call in the late-night hours of August 28th outside 1042 Mulberry Street in Galesburg.

Carter allegedly committed the drive-by shooting that claimed the life of 38-year old Terrell Allen, while Fletcher allegedly threw the gun into Lake Storey later on.

The two remain held in the Knox County Jail.
