Knox County Board Reorganizes
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 12/4/12 The Knox County Board is all new...in a sense.

The 13 of 15 members of the Knox County board took their oaths of office Monday night at the board's reorganizational meeting. As is the case once every 10 years, all board members are up for election.

All incumbents ran for their seats again, except for District-three Democrat Tim Hasten. Hasten is being replaced by Chuck Reynolds, who tells WGIL he just wants to help.

"I've been wanting to serve my community, I did run for city council, but that didn't work out for me," says Reynolds. "I've been wanting to do something to give back to the community and when they approached me with this, I decided it was a good fit."

Reynolds ran as a write-in against Third Ward Alderman Russell Fleming in last year's consolidated election and lost in a close race.

Reynolds says he has a lot to get accustomed to and familiar with, especially given some of the hot-button issues the county is dealing with right now, but feels he'll be fine.
