Girls Basketball Another big challenge awaits the Galesburg girls basketball team this evening as they travel to Rock Island for a Western Big 6 battle with the Rocks. The Streaks, coming off of Monday's 10-point loss to state-ranked Morton, take a 17-9 record into tonight's game while Rocky is 21-2 overall. The Rocks are undefeated in league play at 7-0. Broadcast time is scheduled for 6:40 here on WGIL. Elsewhere around the Western Big 6: Moline travels to Quincy, while United Township hosts Alleman. In other high school girls games tonight, Knoxville hosts Lewistown and Abingdon goes to Peoria Heights. College Hoops The Carl Sandburg College Chargers will be on their homecourt tonight to battle Illinois Valley. The women's game is scheduled for 5:30, with the men to begin at 7:30. Next up for the Knox Prairie Fire is a Saturday doubleheader with St. Norbert at Memorial Gymnasium. The Fire men fell to Cornell last night 90-77, while the women were routed 106-66. This Saturday's opponents are at or near the top of the Midwest Conference in both the mens and womens standings.
