Bears Hire Harris as Quality Control Coach

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- The Chicago Bears have hired former safety Chris Harris as a defensive quality control coach. Harris recently retired after eight seasons that included two stints with Chicago (2005-06 and 2010-11). He also played for Carolina, Detroit and Jacksonville, where he appeared in five games last season and worked with new Bears defensive coordinator Mel Tucker. He had 16 interceptions and 13 forced fumbles in his career. Besides hiring Harris on Monday, the Bears announced they were bringing in former Tampa Bay special teams coordinator Dwayne Stukes as assistant special teams coach and Sean Desai as a defensive quality control coach. Stukes was on the Buccaneers' staff from 2006 to 2011, most recently as their special teams coordinator. Desai coached Boston College's running backs and special teams last season.
