Central Arkansas Slips Past SIU-Edwardsville 80-78
CONWAY, Ark. (AP)--LaQuentin Miles scored 20 points, including 10 of Central Arkansas' final 11 points, and the Bears held on to beat Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 80-78 on Saturday.

Jarvis Garner added 19 points and Robert Crawford scored 18 for Central Arkansas (10-16), which ended a five-game losing streak.

Miles, who also had a game-high nine rebounds, made two free throws with 17 seconds to play to give the Bears a 79-75 lead. Tim Johnson's 3-pointer got the Cougars within one point, and Garner made one of two free throws with 3 seconds left to complete the scoring.

Johnson led SIU-Edwardsville (9-16) with 22 points. Mark Yelovich scored 20, and Kris Davis and Michael Messer scored 15 apiece. The Cougars have lost three in a row and are 1-11 on the road.

The schools' last meeting was in 1993-94 season, when both played in Division II.
