Local Sports Roundup 2/10/13
HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING

The Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Swimming and Diving Team placed third out of four teams participating in the Western Big 6 Conference Meet held at Galesburg High School's Mustain Pool Saturday. Rock Island was the conference champion. However, there was a record-breaker on the Streaks team. Senior Colton Woolsey set a new school record in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:02.60, breaking the old record set in 1996 by two-tenths of a second.

HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING

Knoxville High School has its first-ever wrestler going to State. Jake Wiegand did so Saturday thanks to the Class 1A Sectional. He'll be competing in the 126 pound weight class. Monmouth-Roseville's Justin Kinney goes to the State meet in the 113 pound weight class.

In the Class 3A Sectional at Moline, Galesburg High School failed to advance any wrestlers. That marked the end of great seasons for Jonathan Mixon and Jake Ferguson.
