A berth in this weekend's IHSA class 2A state basketball finals is on the line Wednesday night when Monmouth-Roseville battles Winnebago in the DeKalb Supersectional. The Titans are 26-4, but an underdog against their opponents, who are 31-0 this season. Gametime is 8pm. In class 3A sectional play in Washington, the Limestone Rockets will play Mendota. Limestone is coming off of last Friday's big upset of highly touted Washington, and coach Eddie Matthews team hopes to advance to Friday night's championship to be played at Bradley's Renaissance Coliseum. The Galesburg Silver Streaks hope to be their opponent, but first Galesburg would have to get past Peoria Central Thursday night. The Streaks and Lions will play at 7:30 Thursday, also at Washington High School. We'll have the broadcast beginning at 7:06 here WGIL. In class 4A, the Western Big 6 Champion Rock Island Rocks have advanced to the championship of the Pekin Sectional. The Rocks beat Normal West Tuesday night 63-55, improving to 25-4 on the season. Rocky will play Edwardsville in Friday night's title game at Pekin.
