Volleyball

Two volleyball teams battling for the top spot in the Lincoln Trail Conference will meet tonight outside of Monmouth. The matchup will feature the United Red Storm as they host Kewanee Wethersfield. Both teams are coming off of wins last night, as United topped Mercer County, while Wethersfield won it's 20th match of the season by defeating Stark County. Other volleyball tonight in the area finds Williamsfield hosting Illini Bluffs and Ridgewood traveling to Annawan.

Soccer

Postseason play begins for the small school soccer teams in Illinois today. Monmouth-Roseville is the top seed at the Rock Island Regional, and the Titans will play Alleman in the tourney opener this evening in the Quad Cities. Meanwhile, the Galesburg boys have one more regular-season game to play, and that comes up tomorrow when the Silver Streaks play host to Quincy.

Girls Swimming

The Galesburg girls swim team notched another victory yesterday at Mustain Pool, where the Streaks outpointed Peoria Christian 113-44. Next up for the GHS girls is Saturday's Galesburg Invitational. You can also see the girls swimmers online as part of the "High School Team Video Challenge" sponsored by the Fathead Company. The girls found out this week that their video was selected as one of five finalists in the nationwide contest. You can vote for the GHS Girls Swim Team once each day online by going to www.fathead.com. Voting ends on November 5th.
