Week #6 of the high school football season finds the Galesburg Silver Streaks on the road tonight in Peoria, where they'll play the Manual Rams. Galesburg enters the game with a record of 2-3, while Manual hasn't won a game, and was winless last season as well. Still, Streak's head coach Tim Dougherty says Manual matches up favorably with his team.
Coach Dougherty added that Manual's winless record is a little deceiving.
The Silver Streak's boss said they haven't had the best week of practice, as he feels they're struggling mentally following big losses to Richwoods and Peoria Notre Dame the last two weeks. The rugged schedule resumes next week against state-ranked Rock Island, in what will be the final game at Van Dyke Field. Broadcast time tonight is 7:06 with Brad Bennewitz and Jim Lee from Peoria Stadium here on WGIL.
The marquis matchup in small-school football takes place in Aledo tonight, where class 2A second-ranked and undefeated Mercer County hosts class 1A fifth-ranked and undefeated Stark County. The winner is likely to take the title in the Lincoln Trail Conference. Elsewhere tonight:

Peoria Heights at Abingdon-Avon (Tornados looking for their 3rd straight win)
Annawan-Wethersfield at United
Mid-County at Ridgewood
Monmouth-Roseville at Pittsfield
