Only a handful of events remain on the high school fall sports schedule, and one of those finds the Galesburg girls swim team with high hopes as they prepare for the Sectional meet this Saturday. Coach Ray VanHootegem's Silver Streaks will be one of the favorites, after they captured their sixth consecutive Western Big-6 Conference championship over the weekend.

The Galesburg girls cross country team's season came to a close Saturday with their 19th-place finish at the state cross-country meet at Detweiler Park in Peoria.
