White Sox Non-Tender P Carter, INF Johnson
CHICAGO (AP)--The Chicago White Sox declined to tender 2013 contracts to right-handed pitcher Anthony Carter and infielder Dan Johnson on Friday.

The 26 year old Carter went 4-6 with a 4.60 ERA and two saves over 39 appearances with Triple-A Charlotte last season. He was selected by the Sox in the 29th round of the 2005 first-year draft.

The 33 year old Johnson appeared in 14 games with the White Sox last season, hitting .364 with three homers _ all in the Oct. 3 game at Cleveland _ and six RBIs. He was signed by the White Sox as a free agent last Jan. 31.

The White Sox also said right-handed pitcher Philip Humber was claimed off waivers by the Houston Astros.
