Northwestern Men's Basketball Team Joins Top 25
UPDATED (AP) -- Northwestern is ranked in The Associated Press' college men's basketball poll for the first time in more than 40 years.

The Wildcats, last ranked in January 1969, were one of four newcomers to move into the poll Monday along with Florida State and Wisconsin, both of whom were ranked earlier this season, and UAB, which is in the Top 25 for the first time since the final poll of 2005-06.

With Kansas again a runaway choice at No. 1, the top eight teams in the poll remained the same for the third straight week. The Jayhawks received 52 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel, while No. 2 Texas had 11 and No.3 Kentucky and No. 5 Syracuse got one each.

Florida, Texas A&M, Butler and Gonzaga all fell from the rankings.
