After three straight tournament wins, the GHS Boys Basketball team fell to the Rantoul Eagles 70 to 63 at the Taylorville Holiday Tournament Friday afternoon.

The Streaks lost to host Taylorville in the Championship game Friday night 61-57.

The GHS girls, meanwhile, defeated Urbana at the Charleston Holiday Tournament Friday 83-56. The win is the 10th on the season for Coach Evan Massey's team. The Streaks then got win #11 with a 72-54 win Friday night against the host Charleston. Effingham will play Galesburg in the title game Saturday night, which you can hear beginning at 6:40pm on WGIL, WGIL.com, and your TuneIn Radio app.

The Monmouth-Roseville Titans boys team made their fourth appearance in the championship game of the Macomb Holiday Tournament in six years, after beating Eureka in the semi-final game Friday afternoon 64-37, but could not hold on to the title, losing to Metamora 52-40.

Abingdon, appeariong in the consolation championship game, lost to Pittsfield 55-37.
