"No" Vote for Impeachment Cast By Chicago Democrat Patterson
The Illinois House voted 114-1 to impeach Governor Rod Blagojevich on Friday, but not everyone who voted yes was necessarily on board with the decision.

State Representative Jay Hoffman (D-Collinsville) says he's known the Blagojevich family for many years, and feels bad that his two daughters have to go through all of this. But, Hoffman says his vote was necessary because the state needs to move forward, and removing the Governor from power is the only way to do that.

State Representative Milt Patterson (D-Chicago) voted no because he didn't feel comfortable with voting yes. He says though the committee did an excellent job with obtaining the information it did, there simply wasn't enough for him to justify a yes vote.

State Representative Ken Durkin (D-Chicago) was not present for the impeachment vote, and Elga Jeffries (D-Chicago) voted present.
