School Lunch Survey Tops District 205 Board Meeting Agenda
The Galesburg School Board wanted public input on what it should happen with its school lunch program now that a contract with its current food service provider is about to expire, and the board apparently got it.

The District 205 Board of Education Monday night will hear the results of a survey of parents conducted over the last month asking what they would like to see done with the district's food service.

The district's contract with Aramark for food service ends at the end of the current school year.

Board members are being asked to consider whether to improve the quality of the menu, whether serving trays should be bio-degradable, whether bids should be sought, or whether the district should consider exploring doing food service in-house.

District officials say the board will determine things like lunch fees and milk prices later in the school year.

The Galesburg School Board meets at 7 p-m inside its board room at Lincoln School, and otherwise has a light agenda.
