Quinn Signs Cemetery Bill Into Law
A new law that's in response to the Burr Oak cemetery scandal took no time to be signed by Gov. Pat Quinn, but lawmakers already believe the law will have to be changed.

Despite pleas by Republicans and a few Democrats, lawmakers gave the bill final approval when they were in Springfield for the governor's State of the State address. The governor signed it Friday.

The "no" votes came from lawmakers who say small cemeteries in their districts may shut down because they won't be able to afford the new licensing fees, and won't be able to keep up with the new regulations. They wanted to wait until those problems were worked out, but the measure had enough votes to pass.
