Giannoulias: Take Nothing for Granted
CHICAGO (AP) -- Alexi Giannoulias says he isn't taking anything for granted even though a new newspaper poll shows him leading the Democratic primary race for President Barack Obama's old Senate seat.

Giannoulias said Monday he's encouraged by the latest poll results.

The Chicago Tribune poll showed Giannoulias with 34 percent, Chicago Urban League chief Cheryle Jackson at 19 percent and former city of Chicago inspector general David Hoffman with 16 percent. But 26 percent of voters are still undecided.

The poll of 601 likely Democratic voters was conducted Jan. 16-20. It has an error margin of 4 percentage points.

Two other Democrats -- attorney Jacob Meister and radiologist Robert Marshall -- both registered 1 percent.

Hoffman's camp says the race is still wide open because Hoffman has seen his support grow and there are a large number of undecided voters.
