Will Quinn, Hynes Get Along After Election Day?
The race is nearing the finish line, and that raises a question: Will the two contestants in the Democratic primary for governor bury the hatchet when it's over?

Gov. Pat Quinn and Comptroller Dan Hynes will have to work with each other for the rest of the year, with the winner of the Democratic primary campaigning for governor, and the loser a lame duck in office.

Hynes says if Quinn is the winner on Tuesday, he'll support him in the general election. He says the two have their differences, but they're small compared to what he hears from the field of Republican contenders. Hynes says the plans articulated by Republican candidates to cut $13 billion from the state budget will harm education, health care and human services.

The governor was asked the same question -- would he support Hynes in November if Hynes wins the Democratic nomination? -- and he was unable to fathom the possibility. He said, "I'm a Democrat. I expect to win the primary."
