State Offers Liquor License Look-Up
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- The Illinois Liquor Control Commission is offering taxpayers a chance to check on state liquor licenses on line.

The commission's Web site now includes a license validation look-up system so patrons and neighbors may check on the status of liquor-license holders.

The system will allow searches of the nearly 28,000 businesses licensed to sell liquor in Illinois, including almost 14,000 licensed bars, taverns, restaurants and liquor stores. It also includes distributors, importers, winery shippers and special-event operators.

Users may search by name, address, or ZIP code.

Applications to sell liquor are also available.

The commission's licensing division reviews licenses and issues 200 new and 2,000 renewal state liquor licenses every month.
