"Bald Eagle Days" This Weekend in Quad Cities
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (AP) -- The Quad Cities area is getting ready for Bald Eagle Days this weekend.

The annual event celebrates the annual migration of bald eagles from Canada to the banks of the Mississippi River.

Bald eagles spend the winter in the Quad Cities, roosting along the wooded bluffs and fishing the river. Eagle watchers also gather to watch the birds of prey.

Bald Eagle Days takes place Friday through Sunday at the QCCA Expo Center in Rock Island. It features eagle education programs and a wildlife art show and sale.

A free shuttle from the expo center will take visitors to a marina where the Quad City Audubon Society plans to set up spotting scopes for eagle viewing.
