Dillard Blasts Quinn
CHICAGO (AP) -- Republican candidate for governor Kirk Dillard says Gov. Pat Quinn is "not qualified" to lead the change that Illinois needs.

The state senator from Hinsdale blasted Quinn on Thursday for a program that let 1,700 inmates, some of them violent offenders, out of Illinois prisons early.

Dillard wants the governor's office to provide information about the program under oath.

The early-release program has become a major issue in the governor's race. Quinn has blamed his corrections chief for the program that he called a ``big mistake.''

Dillard is one of seven Republicans running for the GOP nomination in the Feb. 2 primary.

Dillard also doesn't like Quinn's plan to sell a northwestern Illinois prison to the federal government to house Guantanamo Bay detainees.
