Tax Season Upon Us
(IRN)-The New Year means tax season is here.

It's going to get off to a rocky start for some taxpayers, because of late in the year decisions by Congress. David Hensley, a certified public accountant in Springfield with a lot of tax business, says the IRS is worried about getting its regulations published in a timely fashion for tax software providers.

"They're very concerned as to what the response is going to be from the taxpayers," he said. "But quite honestly, I think most people won't even be ready to do their tax returns until around, minimum, the first or second week of February, so I'm not that concerned about what the impact is gonna be."

Hensley says most people don't have the paper work needed to do their taxes until the end of January anyway, so even for the most ambitious with complicated returns, the delay will be only two or three weeks.
