Alcohol Prohibition Disscussed in Knoxville
Knoxville is a dry town, but that could possibly change in April.

Mayor Terry Pool tells WGIL residents have been circulating petitions to repeal a ban on alcohol sales.

"We did a town survey and that was one of the major issues that the public identified they'd like to have alcohol sales in Knoxville, so a group of citizens, there was about a dozen, went and canvassed the town and have signatures on petitions to have the repeal of alcohol on the ballot coming up in April."

Petitions have already been submitted to the city clerk for verification.

Pool says if the measure is placed on the April ballot, it could pass if their is high enough voter turnout, but that's usually difficult in an off election year.
