Knox County Fair Queen Heads to State
Miss Knox County Fair is about to see if she can move farther up the pageant ladder.

Amelia Rogers of Knoxville is in Springfield along with around 66 other fair queens from around the state taking part in the annual Miss Illinois County Fair Pageant continuing through Sunday.

Rogers tells WGIL she's spent a lot of time preparing for this weekend's competition.

"I've been working with past queens on my speech and on interview questions and doing mock interviews," Rogers said. "Also, I had to go buy more dresses, a business suit, swimming suits -- all the attire you need for the competition."

The top 12 that compete in Saturday's competition move on to one on Sunday.

Miss Illinois County Fair helps with the local county fair pageants, in addition to being the hostess of the Illinois and DuQuoin State Fairs.
