Master Facilities Issues to Be Discussed Tonight
More discussion about the Galesburg School District's Master Facilities Plan and, specifically, how to pay for part of it, will happen tonight.

The Galesburg School Board this evening is to hold a public hearing on the financing for phase one of Operation Re-Build/Achieve, which includes 35 million dollars in renovations to Lincoln, Steele, Lombard, and Galesburg High Schools.

Half that cost is expected to be financed with bonds that will be paid back with proceeds from the one-percent increase in the Knox County Sales Tax.

The public hearing, among other items, will be taken up by the Galesburg School Board starting at seven o'clock tonight.

The Galesburg City Council also meets tonight.
There are not many items on their agenda, but aldermen are expected to take up include repairs to a well at the West Main Street Water Plant, and the removal of two underground fuel tanks at the Public Safety Building.

The City Council meets at 6:30 this evening.
