Peoria Co. Jury Convicts Husband in Fatal Stabbing
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- A jury in central Illinois has convicted a 43 year old man who was accused of fatally stabbing his estranged wife 38 times.

Peoria County Circuit Judge James Shadid has set a Feb. 25 sentencing date for Clarence Thomas.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports that Thomas didn't move or show emotion when the verdict was read Wednesday.

Thomas was charged with first-degree murder in the January 2010 death of Martha Thomas. She was stabbed to death after the couple argued about whether or not she should get out of a car.

The attack happened while the couple's 1 year old son and a 5 year old girl were both in the vehicle.
