School Board Pleased with "Lunch Spot..."
The president of the Galesburg School Board says she's thrilled that a first year program set up in response to District 205's now over extended winter break was so successful.

Deborah Harrison says she's appreciative of all those who put "The Lunch Spot" program together.

Harrison and Superintendent Gene Denisar say it seems to them that the program likely did better than anyone's expectations.

"I kept track of the kids they fed during the long break and that was really really great."
"One day they fed 500 kinds, 500."
"More came than signed up and that's really great."
"What a tremendous tribute to the people that worked on that."

"The Lunch Spot" gave students in District-205 lunch every week day for the last two weeks of winter break.

The Galesburg School Board Tuesday night heard no public comments on the proposal to sell bonds to pay for half of the $30 million of work in phase one of the district's Master Facilities Plan.

They did approve the district applying for a $250,000 energy efficiency grant.
