College Professor Speaks on Chinese Presidential Visit
The visit of the president of China to the United States, including Illinois, has a different emphasis on it this time around.

That's according to Monmouth College Political Science Professor Farhat Haq, who tells the WGIL Morning News business was the focus, as evidenced in a pretty obvious way.

"You may have noticed that the state dinner that was given by the White House that there were many top business leaders that were invited. This is really being presented as a way to enhance business opportunities in China for American businesses."

Haq says before, the two issues that used to dominate discussions between the U-S and China were the red nation's undervalued currency, and China's large export market.

After two days of meetings at the White House, Chinese president Hu Jintao came to Illinois for two days of meetings with Governor Pat Quinn and others, and is also to make some cultural and manufacturing-related visits.
