Emanuel Planning Big Weekend Campaign Push
CHICAGO (AP) -- With a new poll that shows he's pulling away from his competitors in Chicago's mayoral race and reports that show he's way ahead in fundraising, Rahm Emanuel is promising a big push this weekend.

Emanuel told reporters Friday morning that "more than a couple thousand" volunteers plan to knock on 22,000 doors throughout the city this weekend.

Emanuel's campaign will also air a commercial during Sunday's Bears-Green Bay Packers game.

The Chicago Tribune/WGN poll shows the former White House chief of staff with the support of 44 percent of those surveyed. The same poll found 21 percent of registered voters questioned prefer former U.S. Sen. Carol Moseley Braun, while 16 percent favor onetime Chicago Board of Education President Gery Chico and 7 percent support City Clerk Miguel del Valle.
