Judge in Chicago to Rule in Emanuel Residency Case
CHICAGO (AP) -- A Cook County judge says he'll rule quickly in the residency case against former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel in his run for Chicago mayor.

Cook County Circuit Court Associate Judge Mark Ballard says he'll issue his ruling at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Lawyers for Emanuel and objectors who want him off the Feb. 22 ballot argued the case before Ballard Tuesday morning.

Objectors argue that Emanuel doesn't meet the city's one year residency requirement because he spent nearly two years living in Washington while working for President Barack Obama. Emanuel moved back to Chicago in October.

The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners has already voted to allow Emanuel on the ballot, saying he meets residency requirements.
